Daniel Scofield - BaritoneBaritone

Daniel Scofield, a native of Binghamton, NY, continues to garner acclaim for his performances of the baritone repertoire across the United States, including St Petersburg, San Jose, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, and New York City. For his appearance in Rigoletto with Opera in the Heights, the Houston Press declared, “He’s the finest court jester I’ve seen in years.”

Recent and future engagements include a return to the role of Schaunard in La bohème with The Phoenicia Festival of the Voice; the role Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor with Pacific Opera Project; and his mainstage debut with Annapolis Opera as Gideon March in Mark Adamo’s Little Women. He will also sing Orff’s Carmina Burana with the Plano Symphony in March of 2018.

In the 2016-17 season, Mr. Scofield returns to the St. Petersburg Opera to cover the Four Villains in Offenbach’s Les contes d’Hoffmann. Other season engagements include Montano in Otello with Phoenicia Festival of the Voice; Der Wanderer inAct 3 of Siegfried with Queen City Opera; Silvio in Pagliacci with Cedar Rapids Opera Theater; and Masetto in Don Giovanni with the South Dakota Symphony. His engagements in the 2015-16 season included Schaunard in La bohème with St. Petersburg Opera; Ford in Falstaff; Lord Henry Wotton in The Portrait of Dorian Grey with Opera Fayetteville; and Der Wanderer in Act 2 of Siegfried with Queen City Opera.

In season 2014-15 he reprised the roles of Count Almaviva Le nozze di Figaro, and Tonio in Pagliacci at Opera Columbus; debuted as Valentin in Faust with Tri-Cities Opera, and sang the title role in Rigoletto with Opera in the Heights. His 2013-14 season engagements included Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor with the Southern Illinois Music Festival, also Masetto in Don Giovanni in his debut with Opera San Jose with the late Maestro George Cleve at the podium; other debuts that year included Santa Barbara in Falstaff, and Los Angeles as Count Almaviva with Pacific Opera Project. In 2012-13 he sang the antecedent title roles in Dead Man Walking with Opera Fayetteville and Die Fledermaus with Knoxville Opera, where he also sang Sonora in La fanciulla del West, for Opera Idaho he performed Tonio in Pagliacci, and Sharpless in Madama Butterfly for Loon Opera in Bemidji, Minnesota.
